3 Speedy Ways to De-Stress

Urgent deadlines, manic multi-tasking, juggling childcare… modern life is stuffed with stresses, and we rarely have the luxury of taking two weeks off to go on a meditation retreat.

So, to help you de-stress and relax, we are sharing 3 surprising ways to beat stress in 10 minutes - or even less!

And of course, if you’re interested in incorporating CBD into your de-stress routine, why not take a look at our CBD oils in various flavours and products?

Self-care is so important and more and more people in the UK are accepting alternative methods to supporting mental health

This could take many forms including pampering yourself or buying a soothing gift for a special person.

What are 3 ways to reduce stress?

Have a fight… with yourself

Our body’s reaction to stress is often known as the ‘fight or flight’ response, as the burst of adrenaline is designed to ready our bodies to do just that – engage in combat (fight) or run away (flight).

The trouble is, most of the time we’re doing something much less physical, like sorting out finances and paperwork.

So, while you can’t usually run away, there’s no reason why you can’t ‘burn off’ the stress elsewhere. How?

Just try one of the 5-minute home boxing workouts on YouTube - a quick search will bring up plenty.

They’re easy to fit into spare moments, and since more of us are working from home, you won’t need to worry about accidentally bumping into a co-worker!

Try some mental time travel

In the classic book Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff…And It’s All Small Stuff, Richard Carlson recommends asking yourself: “Will this matter a year from now?”

It’s a great question that instantly put things into perspective. That big meeting may seem all-important now, but will you still be worrying about it next year? Or even next week? Probably not.

Take a deep breath and take everything in your stride.

Get your groove on

You don’t have to restrict dancing just to the dancefloor.

Even a 2-minute dance can have lasting benefits, as ‘Doctor Dance’ Peter Lovatt notes in The Dance Cure. And since it’s nearly impossible to think about your to do list while trying to recall the next step, it’s a great way to take your mind off everyday dramas.

Plus, you’ll be getting fitter at the same time. Where to start? Why not take five minutes to learn the Happy Dance for de-stressing too?
