Researching anything CBD related will inevitably lead to numerous academic articles packed with intimidating terms and confusing statistics. It shouldn’t have to be like this.
Why is CBD shrouded in such mystery?
Hello there. Welcome to the first part in our ‘simplifying CBD’ series. Each week we’ll tackle frequently asked CBD questions and try to shed some light on your common concerns.
Let’s make things simple.
What is CBD?
Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of hundreds of naturally occurring compounds found in the hemp plant known as cannabinoids. CBD is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid, meaning it will not cause the high typically associated with hemp.
CBD supports your body’s own endocannabinoid system which helps to maintain an internal natural balance, also known as homeostasis.
Is CBD legal in the UK?
Absolutely.
While CBD products are cannabinoids (extracted from cannabis plants) they do not contain psychoactive THC. THC is the compound that produces the euphoric, mind-altering state most commonly associated with cannabis. Or, in other words, the illegal part.
All our products undertake a stringent testing process to ensure that they are legal, safe and THC-free.
Can I take CBD every day?
CBD is recommended as a supplement taken daily. Most customers choose to split dose their CBD, meaning they will take some in the morning and again in the evening. Some choose to take it in one dose, and some choose to take it as and when they need to.
It’s really down to personal preference and is all about finding out what works for you, however it is a good idea to aim to have a maintained balanced level of CBD in your body, and try to keep it consistent.
What is the strongest CBD oil you can buy in the UK?
Our strongest CBD oil comes in a 30ml bottle at 6000mg CBD concentrate. By prioritising your wellbeing, we have created a range of strengths that are all safe, legal and interact with your natural endocannabinoid system.
What strength should I use?
Your perfect dosage will depend on your weight, height, individual body chemistry and the reason behind your CBD usage. If you are new to CBD, we recommend 20mg - 40mg per day. After that, we’d suggest increasing your dosage by 5mg per week up to a daily maximum of 60mg, in line with FSA guidelines. With a bit of fine-tuning, you’ll find your optimal dose.
We believe that everyone’s ideal dosage is different so we provide a range of strengths so that you can find what works best for you.
CBD Capsules
How are they different to CBD oils?
Both capsules and oils are effective ways of taking CBD. Many people dislike the taste of oil so may prefer to use capsules. The speed at which CBD enters the bloodstream also differs between oils and capsules: while capsules offer a slower release rate (a bit like fibre in porridge), oils provide a more direct form of application.
Capsules are also a great way of accurate dosing with each one a very specific measured amount of CBD.
Do CBD Capsules make you drowsy?
CBD is not a sedative, so there is no risk of feeling drowsy. However, research has shown that it can support sleep. Confusing huh? Because CBD has the reported ability to support the body’s stress response, it can mean a feeling of well being and calm, which can result in a quality peaceful night’s sleep.
Do CBD Capsules work for anxiety?
Because CBD works with our own endocannabinoid systems, it can interact with receptors that regulate various bodily functions according to the latest research. These interactions can support the brain’s ability to combat stress which produces a clear mind.
CBD Sprays
What is CBD spray?
CBD sprays are CBD oils, just in a spray form. It is simply a different way of taking your CBD. Some people prefer a quick couple of sprays under the tongue, rather than measuring out oil in a pipette. It’s all down to personal preference.
Where do you spray CBD?
We recommend one or two quick sprays on your tongue. Some research suggests holding the oil on your tongue for 90 seconds so more can be absorbed by the sublingual glands.
