2020 Botanics FAQ
Although this is quite a common question, it does not make much sense! This is because we extract CBD from hemp plants, and so the two are intimately connected. The reason why we specify that we stock hemp-derived CBD products at 2020 Botanics is because CBD is also evident in marijuana plants, alongside another substance called THC.
THC produces psychoactive effects which, in turn, causes the “high” associated with marijuana. Importantly, whilst hemp-derived CBD products (containing less than 0.3% THC) are legal in the UK, marijuana-derived ones are not! At 2020 Botanics, we can ensure that our range of CBD products is THC-free!
You can read more about the difference between CBD and THC on our blog.
Yes, our products can and should be used as food supplements. They perfectly complement a varied and balanced diet and an active lifestyle. This is because the hemp plant is packed full of beneficial compounds that positively interact with the endocannabinoid system (ECS).
The ECS is a natural network of cannabinoid receptors found in the body that regulates a wide array of the body’s functions, such as mood, appetite, sleep, and immune system responses.
You will find the recommended dosage when you click on each of our products. The amount will vary according to its CBD concentration. For instance, whilst we recommend that you start with 0.5ml per day (around 20 drops) split over 2-3 equal servings of 2020 Botanics 1500mg CBD oil drops, we advise starting with 0.25ml per day (around 10 drops) of our 5000mg CBD oil drops.
The Food Standards Agency (FSA) advises that you do not exceed 70mg CBD per day. Up to this amount, how much CBD you take is up to you. Some people are likely to have a higher tolerance than others, and so it is all about personal preference.
A well-structured self-care routine is guaranteed to boost your mood and promote happiness. We recommend incorporating CBD into your everyday self-care routine.
The endocannabinoid system is one of the most significant neurotransmitter networks in the human body. It consists of endocannabinoids and their receptors which help regulate crucial aspects of our health. Anandamide, one of the main endocannabinoids within the body, is a compound closely associated with our well-being. Scientists have observed that taking CBD oil can increase anandamide levels, boosting your mood and promoting feelings of happiness.
When it comes to choosing a CBD oil, there isn’t a one 'best oil' to pick. However, if you are a first time CBD user, we advise starting with our lowest 300mg CBD dose and increasing slowly. If you are unsure which flavours to choose from, try Love Hemp’s Liquid Oil Drops. They come in various flavours, ranging from valencia orange and wild cherry to natural and peppermint.
